Prof. B.T. Aluko

Prof. B.T. Aluko is a Professor of Estate Management at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He holds a National Diploma (Upper Credit, 1982) and Higher National Diploma (Upper Credit, 1985) from The Polytechnic, Ibadan; a B.Sc. (First Class Honours, 1989), M.Sc. (1993), and Ph.D. (2000) in Estate Management, all from OAU. His academic journey at OAU began in 1990 as Graduate Assistant; he rose to Professor in October 2007. He has served as Acting Head/Head of the Department of Estate Management (multiple terms, including 2001–2007 and 2009–2012), Vice-Dean (2004–2006), and Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management (2013–2017). He teaches core courses in valuation, land economy, research methodology, and land governance at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Prof. Aluko has supervised 26 postgraduate students by research (including 5 completed Ph.D. theses and several ongoing), plus over 25 long essays. He is actively engaged in research on property investment valuation, behavioural real estate, land policy, and urban management. To his credit are approximately 70 scholarly publications, comprising 47 peer-reviewed journal articles (in journals such as Property Management, International Journal of Strategic Property Management, and Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management), 15 refereed conference proceedings, 5 edited books/monographs, and 2 book chapters.
