Dr. S.O. Oladokun
Dr. Oladokun Sunday Olarinre is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Estate Management, Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, Obafemi Awolowo University. He holds a PhD in Property Studies from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, alongside an M.Sc. in Estate Management from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master in Facilities Management from the University of Lagos. His doctoral research examined property markets under conditions of uncertainty, with specific focus on the Lagos property market.
Dr. Oladokun’s academic identity is anchored in property valuation practice, real estate education, and facilities management. His research interrogates systemic challenges within valuation practice, including data scarcity, pricing of professional services, client influence, and valuation theory. He has published in reputable international journals such as Property Management, Journal of Property Investment and Finance, and Journal of Facilities Management, which are indexed in Scopus. His work contributes to ongoing scholarly and professional debates on valuation standards, market transparency, and competence formation in emerging property markets.
Beyond valuation research, he has contributed to scholarship on real estate education and graduate employability, examining the nexus between professional training, soft skills, and workplace performance. His interdisciplinary orientation connects academic theory with industry practice, reflecting prior professional experience in estate surveying and valuation.
Dr. Oladokun teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate levels in areas including Land Economics, Property Valuation, Feasibility and Viability Studies, and Research Methodology. He supervises postgraduate research and actively participates in departmental administration. He is a registered Estate Surveyor and Valuer and an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, reflecting his strong integration of academic scholarship with professional practice.
