Professor Matthew Oluwole Oyewole
Professor Matthew Oluwole Oyewole is a Professor of Estate Management at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, where he earned his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Estate Management. With over 34 years of full-time academic experience, following a brief period in professional practice, he has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and academic leadership.
He has successfully supervised numerous M.Sc. and Ph.D. candidates and has authored approximately 50 scholarly publications in reputable academic outlets. His research interests include Real Estate Investment and Appraisal, Real Estate Finance, and Sustainable/Green Building Development and Investment.
Professor Oyewole possesses extensive administrative and leadership experience. He served as Head of the Department of Estate Management at Obafemi Awolowo University (2022–2024). Previously, he held the same position at The Polytechnic, Ibadan (1993–1997) and Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin (2005–2007). During a sabbatical appointment at Ajayi Crowder University, Oyo, he served as Head of Department and Acting Dean, Faculty of Environmental Studies. In addition to his core academic roles, he has contributed through adjunct teaching appointments at several Nigerian universities and has served as External Examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across multiple institutions. His professional expertise also extends to National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercises, curriculum development, and peer review for academic journals.
Professor Oyewole is married and blessed with children.
